Description
I mean sure, seeing ponies reformed in this show gets old after awhile but if this episode has shown us anything, its that the writers are LEARNING from their mistakes!
We were given clear foreshadowing that the villain may be reformed via the friendship map(I personally came to this conclusion before it was mentioned in the episode plus starlight reminded us a few times.) and they made sure that the villain has a backstory, a GOOD ONE!
ANNND, they made sure to show us that the pony choose to join with the shadow but when he wanted to leave had no choice meaning that the shadow played off his despair to get a host! This tells us that while he was hurt by them, he wasn’t evil.
So overall, I loved this season finale and a BIG PLUS is we got enough pony lore and history to make Twilight Sparkle herself squeal like I did!XD

As I said before, less of a reformation, and more of an exorcism.
I’d say Stygian/Pony of Shadows was about as much a villain as Luna/Nightmare Moon was: a good pony who, through jealousy/bitterness, turned to dark magic to get what they thought they wanted, and found they couldn’t control that dark magic.
Discord, though the living embodiment of Chaos, used to enjoy tormenting others; I’d say that qualifies him as a villain, if not outright evil, particularly since he’s learned he can be sufficiently chaotic without harming others.
Tempest Shadow was perfectly happy to demolish and subjugate entire kingdoms in service to an evil tyrant in order to get her horn back; that’s definitely villainous. (As for Grubber, the credits sequence implies he and the Storm King’s minions joined ol’ Fizzlepop in doing a heel-face turn, but it’s unclear whether that should be considered canon.)
I’ll agree about the others, though, and also add Iron Will, who’s not exactly a villain but who is pretty solidly a self-serving jerk.
it seems almost of the Bronies within the fandom don’t seem to realize
only three actually have been reformed Luna, Sunset Shimmer, StarLight Glimmer
the other non reformed villains and Super Villains, bad ponies like Discord
wasn’t really evil since considering he is the embodiment of Chaos an Anarchy
Trixie wasn’t evil well because of the Alicorn Amulet and Tirek is in Tartarus
Chrysalis, Dazzlings, Storm King, King Sombra, Tempest Shadow wasn’t really evil
because she only wanted her horn back an more of a taking orders type of pony
Grubber, Juniper Montage, Flim and Flam, Dr Caballeron an hench ponies
Suri Polomare,Wind Rider, Svengallop, Gladmane, Diamond Dogs, Ahuizotl
Garble, Principal Cinch, Zest Gourmand, Lightning Dust.

Like, these things should take effort.
And I’m not saying Stygian didn’t have any, but….well->@buttonmash3529
Get ready for Chrysalis reformation!
Or the Dazzlings.
(Hints at possible team-up with the two? Maybe…)
As long as they don’t reform Chrysalis.
