The show has never been too concerned with geographic accuracy (remember when Pinkie and Dash took the train to the island?). The print map was literally just a background for the “Explore Equestria!” marketing gimmick… never meant to be a literal map of the series locations.

Sadly, the cutie map is so screwed up compared to the print map that you can’t really place anything reliably.
 
Just about every artifact location shown in the S7 finale contradicts everything stated or assumed about where they should be.
 
Meadowbrook’s village should be in the Hayseed Swamp, but the mask is on the west coast.
 
Somnambula’s blindfold is in the badlands, but it should be on the west coast.
 
Mistmane’s flower is just a bit west of Manehattan. Granted, the buildings and garden there could have been built more recently by immigrants, but the implication is that’s the original site of the village.
 
Rockhoof’s shovel is… in the middle of the Celestial Sea? Or on one of those islands that aren’t on the print map?  
I can only assume it’s supposed to be in what’s known as the Kirin Grove, since it’s south of the dragon lands where the Netitus is.
