It’s kind of funny to look back at this and see how things have changed. They are now quite more generous with free gems in the game now, and they even had events where you could win shops that produce gems (and I managed to get them). Most of the newer events are also actually winnable now without having to make in-app purchases, though the grind is still quite real. :<
 
Elements of Harmony shards are now quite more easy to get too, and you no longer have to train up ponies to run shops since shops automatically run themselves now. And the higher your level, the easier it is to level up your ponies, too.
 
Also you can now get King Sombra in the game now by completing the Crystal Empire storyline. 👀

there are hacks to get ponies for free on ios and spawn money on android

AFAIK you can either play the game for 14 years straight to complete it, or pay some $250 to get enough gems to barely complete it in a sane amount of time.

So you don’t know anything about the Gameloft MLP game?  
The gems are used to get things done fast, buy buildings and ponys, some you eve NEED but are cost a lot, and take forever to get a good stash of them without paying real money for more, and over priced.

Ok - I admit it - I don’t get it. Care to explain?
