I always thought the Storm King as MLP’s version of Aku. He has four horns, is humurous without compromising his evilness, succeded in conquering nations, enjoys the fact he’s the bad guy and prefers to have his minions do his dirty work for him. Sure, he lacks the power but once he has it, he spares no expense on how he uses it, even willing to do so on his own minions, something Aku would definitely do. And he was also ultimately beaten by his own creation: Tempest was pretty much the Ashi for him in my eyes.
 
So, yeah. This picture is more than fitting for him.
