Description

Inky Rose had come to Ponyville to discuss designs with Rarity, and to see if she would be willing to sell them in her boutiques. Rarity had agreed, so Inky left to get started on them. Once she had left the boutique however, she noticed a green pegasus had begun to follow her. At least, she thought he was. She shrugged it off and decided it was nothing, a lot of ponies were headed in the same direction as she was. Inky turned for the path in town that would eventually lead to the path to the station.

By this time, most of the ponies that were behind her were gone, except for the same green stallion who she had seen earlier. He appeared to be staring at her tail, or maybe flank with the look of a love struck filly, and what appeared to be a wing boner. She began to grow suspicious. Was this pony trying to kidnap her? Who would be dumb enough to kidnap a pony in broad daylight? However, there were no ponies out on this side of town at the moment. Maybe this stallion was completely harmless, and was also just trying to get to the train station. The edge of town grew closer. Inky decided she’d better ask the stranger what he was doing before she left the town, in case anything happened, she’d be able to scream loud enough and a pony from inside one of the buildings would hear her cry and come to her aid. Inky stopped dead in her tracks and turned around.

“Um, hello.” She greeted awkwardly. The green pegasus didn’t even make eye contact with her. Instead, he started blankly at Inky’s chest, smiling goofily and even drooling a little. “Uhh..” Inky waved a hoof in front of the pony’s face. He blinked in surprise, and looked around in confusion. “Is there any particular reason why you’re following me?” Inky asked, shifting her weight sassily. The pegasus look at her, still confused, but suddenly smirked, as if he had just realized something. The stallion chuckled. “Well mam, I was wonderin’ if you might have a map. See, cause I’m lost.” “Oh. Well I can gladly point you to a directory-” “Lost in your eyes.” The pegasus finished, drawing close to Inky’s face and winking. Inky blinked. “I’m sorry mam,” Zephyr laughed. “You’re just the most beautiful creature I’ve ever seen.” “Then you must not see a lot of beautiful things.” Inky scoffed. She turned around and continued to walk. At least now she knew this pony wasn’t a kidnapper, but rather a mindless flirt. “No no mam. See, in my profession, I work with a lot of beautiful mares. I see em’ everyday! Models, movie stars.. even politicians! Mam I’ve seen it all. But you..why, I’ve never seen anypony like you.” The pegasus trotted up to her side. “And what exactly is your proffesion?” “Well I’m a hairstylist mam. Up in Maehatten. I just came by here for a visit, and I sure am I did.” He chuckled, walking side by side with Inky. She stopped dead in her tracks. “M-Manehatten?” “Yes mam.” Inky’s heart beat faster. She was heading to Manehatten. Hell she LIVED in Maehatten. “O-Oh.” Inky said with little interest. The two walked in silence for a while, until the green stallion started up the conversation again.

“You would happen to have a name now, wouldn’t you mam?” “No.” Inky said flatly. “Huh,” The stallion breathed. “I find that hard to believe. Well, all the same, my name’s Zephyr. Zephyr Breeze to be precise.” “I honestly don’t care.” Inky said, speeding up her trot. “It’s a name you’ll learn to remember.” He winked. Inky snorted. The train station was just up ahead. She sped up her pace, and so did this ‘Zephyr’. “All aboard for Manehatten!” The conductor called. Inky galloped the last few feet to the station with Zephyr matching her pace, and handed the conductor the ticket. Zephyr did likewise. “Say, what’s your seat number?” “I’m not telling you.” Inky spat. “Oh come on. Here, I’ll tell you mine first. I’m seat D15.” Inky’s heart skipped a beat. “I-I’m seat D16.” She said fearfully. “What! No way!” Zephyr cried excitedly. “See my love. It’s destiny.” He said dramatically. Inky took her seat next to Zephyr and sighed. This was going to be a long ride.
