Yeah, I think the mods sometimes go overboard with the bantz and the insults, but given who they have to deal with day in and day out, I can’t really blame them.
And surprise surprise, someone who thinks they should have carte blanche to insult those horrible people gets all butthurt and whiny when they are the target of insults. Haven’t seen that before. (That was sarcasm, by the way.)
@The Walhi Llama
Oh, he’s not the one dragging the term “bronies” down to the level of “furries”…
Personally? If it was up to me this would have been a post in the Site & Policy forum, because I like the image portion of the site itself being devoted to ponies and art, and not drama or meta conversations about the site or fandom itself, but my voice is just one on a team who also are just a fraction of a larger community, and I see the value of also allowing these kinds of things to be talked about wherever they happen.
But, the only reason for taking this down would be if it was simply “too meta” and was deleted for Rule #3, or Rule #8 if there was anything confidential about other users here (which there isn’t) or if I complained about the PM being posted without my permission, which I’m not sure is even a thing because as a volunteer we give up some of the expectations of being private that normal users have.
So, in all sincerity, and just speaking for myself, there isn’t anything to prove here. This is just the normal noise, except someone decided to post it on the site instead of coming to IRC to talk about it.
Most people I know call themselves furries.
Personally I don’t enjoy the word brony or being referred to as much, but I don’t instigate that it’s an ‘insult’.
People have opinions, it’s not about winning or losing.
Not here maybe. But try calling most people “furry”.
There’s a reason the reputation is so negative.
And since it seems you’re so intent on dragging bronies down to that level, I can’t stop you.
I give up.
You win.
True. But by keeping it up, the mods actually prove it wrong. Which is somewhat pleasant. You know what they say, sunlight is a great disinfectant. If you want to prove someone wrong, let them speak. I will still remain vigilant whenever a case of authority misusing power arises, not just in a web community like this one, but in real life.
well in this instance the mods havent done anything wrong, so this just makes op look bad
This tbh
it never was.
Because you take it as one. Most people don’t.
Lol
Not any more
wow chowdie fail smh

Just want to know the same Dark Star does. Do the rules apply to everyone? Are there exceptions? If so, are they fair?
Screw that. Time to completely wipe the hard drive.
>implying the label “brony” is better than “furry” in any capacity
Setting aside Rule #8, can you describe what are you concerned about in this specific case?
… starting to wonder why this isn’t in the Site & Policy forum, but so be it.
I’m already drunk on white merlot.
Someone give me a bottle of really strong whiskey.
It is basically an insult.
So you know why I resent the label

if anything, bronyism/bronytum is a niche class of furry, where it fits the requirements but doesn’t require the fans to go by the term “furry”, since you can like pony porn and not like anthro dog porn (like ya boi)
At this point I feel like that.
I am concerned about the rules and how they are enforced, everyone else seem concerned about pointless petty semantics.
