Child of a griffon and a pony? You mean a hippogriff? Haven’t you ever heard the phrase “Jungentur jam grypes equis?” It translates as “To cross griffons with horses”, an old timey way of saying “When pigs fly.”
Magical Freakin’ ponies that happen to actually reproduce in the most traditional ways mammals reproduce.And that’s canon.That’s why so many people have problems with this.
It doesn’t matter if some ponies have horns and another have wings,they reproduce among themselves quite nice (even thought their genetics are weird).
Take a Reptile and make them breed with them? that’s as ridiculous as magical lesbian/gay spawn.
So let’s all just relax on the biology obsession and enjoy the cute. Is that okay? Can we all enjoy the cute together?
And enjoy Sweetie Belle growing up to be intelligent. That’s a nice thing, too.

Dammit,this is one the most ridiculous things I’ve ever read.I think…I think I remember a fic about that but I decided to block it from my mind since it pretty much involved Apple Bloom dying.
Not that that stops people.
Why wouldn’t they just adopt a dregular ragon and a regular pony? Yes, it would keep the fandom from creating more biological monstrosities, but think of the children! Also, think of Rarity’s poor vag, and how brutal it would be laying that egg.
Fun Fact:
The Kirin/Qilin actually have more deer-like feature rather than horse-like but for some reason people are stubborn and keep carrying the misconception.
Also,Higher Kirins are also part tiger and even part fish.
That’s why I always consider a imaginary Sparity child a magical random weird thing hybrid OCs.
A child between a griffin and a pony would make more sense than a dragon and(only) a horse and still I don’t think we’re going to ever have one of those either.
A Qilin is not a dragon/unicorn hybrid.
Because,like you said,it wouldn’t work for biological reasons.Remember Discord not only is part pony (though his “pony” head seriously doesn’t look like a pony in my opinion) and dragon,he’s other animals as well,more like a chimera.
And well I always thought that Discord was born as a magical random manifestation of pure concentrated chaos rather than being born normally.

wizardunicorn did it.But on the other way, Discord must have been born somehow. Why not as a Dragon-Pony hybrid? He is a Draconicus after all. And this little filly looks like it could be one too. :)
