Description
So Twilight heard of an old pyramid that had an old library filled with dusty old books. She wasn’t expecting said pyramid to still be occupied, but it turns out using the library is fine as long as she reads out loud.
(This is what I imagine Sphinx’s hair looks like :P )

It’s definitely possible. My personal theory about it is that being a spirit of chaos isn’t bound by species, and Pinkie Pie and Discord both are examples of their respective species that just happen to possess chaos magic (and most draconequui, however you spell it, don’t). Discord’s just way more crazy powerful because his species lives for a really long time while Pinkie’s only had about 18-25-ish years to do it :D
They don’t even look that much alike. They don’t have similar voices. Time travel doesn’t work that way in this series.
How about this for a headcannon: Flutershy is actually her mother and time travel is involved.
Taking that logic into account, are we sure Pinkie doesn’t have distant Draconequus ancestors, considering her ability to completely ignore the laws of physics?
It’s possible. With the way Sphinxy gets around and her long lifespan she probably has hundreds of thousands of descendants. Anything 1/4 sphinx or less will just be a pony with some sphinxy features like rub-able cheeks

I’m still holding out that she returns later but has long-since mellowed out and is neutral, but like the ponies assume she’s still a villain and attack her. Imagine something like this XD
That would be what we call a Spartacus situation.
Well its kind of a double edge sword. Having her name be just “The Sphinx” is pretty cool, but it would mean we can’t have other Sphinx’s show up.
Gone now, so it must have been fan made :P
Personally, I kind of hope she never gets a name outside of “The Sphinx”. It’s kind of bad-ass that she only goes by her title like that XD
