The human brain is hardwired to think that large heads with large eyes and a short muzzle are cute traits, because those are traits that human babies have, and we’re genetically encoded to find babies cute to incentivize us to protect them so that the species can live on for another generation or two.  
A lot of fictional characters have these innately “cute” traits to make them look more appealing.

This has nothing to do with lewd thought. They just make a point to correct the unbalanced butt to head ratio. Why are people thinking that production crew care about Fluttershy butt? You guys are lost.

EQD had an interview with one of the artists on the show several years back, I want to say around season 2, and one of the things they said was that sometimes they’d pose the characters in “inappropriate positions” just for laughs and save pictures. Some of those were distributed around the studio internally. When asked how people reacted, he said some thought they were funny, some didn’t care one way or another, and some didn’t like it at all.
 
When asked (because of course they asked) if there was any chance of these joke images being released, the reaction was essentially “Oh God no”, and that they had all been deleted anyway. Apparently a higher-up in the studio got wind of it, and told them to delete them all.

Anyone who thinks the artists are totally ignorant about how much viewers like pony butts is just fooling themselves. They are adults THEY KNOW WHAT THEY’RE DOING. Also I fully accept “more butt” into the “expand dong” family of memes.

This needs to become a meme in the Brony community.

It’s always away from the camera at the start of the shot. Meaning if she’s turning while camera is not moving, hair can be at camera side briefly.

I wonder what they thought of their large heads. I imagined they would’ve wanted a remodel. I guess the large heads of the ponies helps to express them.
