Discord is still better, because Discord/Q never actually lose they just fuck around. Some TNG watchers might bring up the fact that Q couldn’t convince Riker to join him, that’s because the crew were a bunch of indignant assholes, who were like “we don’t want gifts form a person who didn’t hurt anyone or do anything actually bad to us because we’re mad jelly of how awesome he is” (there may be some paraphrasing it that but its basically what happened).

Uhh, HELLO? His smoke clearly got dispelled by the crystal heart. PAY ATTENTION.

V @Background Pony He wasn’t just waiting there. He was growing that crystal up so he can catch the Heart sooner. That’s pretty much quivalent for transorming into cloud option.

he was able to fly in his smoke form but he decided to land down on crystal, open his mouth and wait for his dinner like total moron…
 
he could  
a) transform into cloud and catch Spike in air or take heart and let Spike fall  
b) use his dark/unicorn magic to take away heart from him or even kill Spike  
c) chase weak Cadance when she somehow saved Spike  
d) etc..
 
better do nothing and wait till Crystal Princess use power of legendary artifact to kill you

OK. I guess so. But discord still could have stopped them even then, if not for him thinking he’d still won.

@64 Yeah I know I’m shit at typing right now. I’ll try again. So Sombra was defeated because Twilight used “dark magic” that Celestia showed her, then Spike got her away from the door and got the heart to where it needed to be. Now Discord was beaten when Twilight got the letters that she wrote back from Celestia, through Spike, and was able to break Discords spell and use her magic to break it on the rest of the Mane Six. So in both situations they were defeated by the trio of Twilight, Spike, and Celestia as well as a powerful artifact or artifacts, Crystal Heart and the Elements of Harmony respectively, I hope that makes more sense

If Discord wasn’t so cocky he’d have won, easily. It was clear that they mane six weren’t discorded anymore; they had their color back.

okay my last comment is really bad. Basically the discord argument is bullshit, Sombra isn’t better because he was also defeated by something Celestia gave Twilight, Discord is also infinitely more powerful the Sombra, and if he was being a try hard like Sombra could win in an instant

The book left out a key detail. Every pony in the empire knew about the crystal heart. The heart was very well hidden in his castle and required the use of a magic that not many besides him knew about. And even if they could use that magic they’d be stuck at that door forever.

Actually the Discord thing doesn’t hold up because he had already “beaten” them when he gave them back the elements. he just did see the letter things coming, also hides the one thing that can defeat him in his castle, also lets documents that give hints on how to defeat him sit in a library, also allowing someone who also knows exactly how to defeat him stay alive or be around when he comes bad. so the fact is Discord is better then or equivalent (better) to Sombra in the fact that there was a single wild card the ended up defeating them (friendship letters, copy cat magic both being from Twilight and Celestia)
