According to the Tempest Shadow origin storybook the Hippogriffs/Seaponies aren’t very friendly to strangers in general, although this could just be they’re afraid of the Storm King finding them and destroying their kingdom again

I cracked jokes and puns the whole time to the hospital once with a serious issue. And while in the ER.
