Meanwhile Sunset is a refugee from the horse dimension whom may or may not have had high upbringings back there. Considering that she was Celestia’s original apprentice.
Heck, we actually have more details on Trixie’s supposed family in the background than we did for Sunset. All the other Mane casts have had their families visited at least once in the series. Including Starlight.

Well, some places have nuisance laws wherein if you let your property get so rundown that it becomes an eyesore they can arrest you.

Judging by the massive rectangular window the sun comes in at the start and the fact that her ‘bedroom’/loft has a smaller, square window, she’s gotta be in one of the top rooms. I’m thinking two bedrooms and then a shared kitchen and maybe living-room below.
And it’s not tree shaped.
So yeah, Sunset’s living in the slums. That’s about the cheapest housing you’re going to get without relying on roommates to help pay the rent.

Didn’t quite get that impression myself.
Going by the layout of her room, we got two rooms in the top, and two on the bottom. Her bedroom is on the first floor, on the top right window.
It’s probably a duplex. Living quarters on the upper floor.
I’d actually like to see the Dazzlings rent out the other half :P
