There are still many sfm characters’ models, that are wrong and needs to be redone, for example Flim Flam brothers, King Sombra, Prince Blueblood, Cheese Sandwich. They have whole different bodies than generic stallion model creators used.

I use Blender exclusively and created my own models from scratch to avoid some of the weird uncanny traits the SFM models have. They’re designed to more closely mimic the 2D style of the show instead of whatever SFM models are going for. All of my 3D stuff can be seen in my profile page here and on DA.

Not even close. They’re both unicorns… The hooves are similar… But the shape of the head is not at all the same.
 
I put together a chart about a month ago for my own purposes when it comes to how I plan on making new models of different types of characters (and what characters can just use the same exact model not including mane and tail). It’s not entirely intuitive to understand but it should give you an idea on how I see other characters’ visual similarities and differences. Quite a few of the more recent plot relevant characters tend to have their own unique category for head shape and eye shapes:

All of these look like the same pony to me.

Shining’s head is unique to him for as far as I know, so yes I agree with this. He needs a new head model that’s unique to him in this case.
