UPDATE: Viewed this entire episode side-by-side, one in MPC-HC bolstered by SVP, and one in Splash Player. They both perform about equally in panning shots, but Splash Player has smoother framerate with more complex animation. SVP handles these by overlaying frames together with some transparency added in, while Splash Player applies more soap and “guesses” where the in-shot motions are headed. It looks soapier (more artifacts) but does its job far better. It seems to have a superior algorithm for interpolation. It still doesn’t look quite as good as this WebM, but it’s better than SVP.
If you guys have $20 to spare, get Splash Player Pro. It’s definitely worth it.
Watching this exact scene on my PC using SVP.
SVP isn’t quite this smooth. It’s definitely better than the base 24FPS, but not as smooth as this Webm. I am jealous.
I might buy the full version if that “advanced video preprocessing” and “smart profiles” can create smoothness like this webm, but I’m not counting on it.
Edited
I used the Optical Flow feature in Premiere Pro. Though you could get similar result using a combination of open source tools by following this guide. Or if you’re just interested in 60fps playback, there is the SmoothVideo Project.
Yep
Oh this’ll be fun.
That was me. and then me again. We discussed it, and decided to keep both versions. Because some people prefer/find it easier to use the gif format.
Also: This is not the place to discuss this. please take it to the forums.
Why you want to keep the inferior gif versions anyway? i saw some mods accepted mergers but then you guys started to negate them? are you on civil war?
So….what would happen anyways when people report it? o.0
Heck, people reporting it would actually make MORE dupe reports.
Then enjoy a tsunami of dupes.
No.
I’m almost sliding out of this chair!
