She appears exclusively in the new CMC book series “Ponyville Mysteries” so far. But one should never say never…..  
The show is directly tying in with the comics now with Season 7, it would not be too out of left field if the same happens with the official books. “The Mane Attraction” even had an event seen in the books referenced already.  
And in a recent interview about the books by EQD, Mike Vogel, who is one of the authors, hinted that something from these books might find their way into the show….. He just didn’t say what or who, but he seemed to imply something.

She looks like what Princess Luna’s child would be if they were in Fire Emblem: Awakening and Fates.

Season 8 character possibly?

Yup, true, I read the book too. Hopefully she ain’t bad but the evidence is leading up to her being evil.

Not yet proven, but there are good reasons to think so. The epilogue in the second book confirmed that “The Pony” is a member of Lilymoon’s family, because it specifically mentioned how easy it would be to arrange an “accident” for them since they have made it a habit to come up to the house on Horseshoe Hill. And Lilymoon had the manipulated candy cane that turned Twist into a werepony from her sister’s room and Ambermoon knew that Lilymoon has a habit of taking stuff from her room.  
A pretty easy and unsuspecting way to get that candy cane out of the house so that somepony in Ponyville ends up eating it.
 
But who knows….. This series is very good with plottwists and with leading your thoughts into the direction it wants them to be. We might get lured into something here.

Lilymoon is one really rad and badass filly. I like her dark touch and I hope she’s really one of the good guys.

That’s her official name. She’s actually an important character in the Ponyville Mysteries series and not a background pony.

Is Lilymoon really her name or was this given by some random guy on Derpibooru? I’ve always thought about this for characters who are far in the background to be given names or haven’t even been introduced yet.

I really like this character. She dresses how I wish I did when I was a teenager/young adult.

I like her older sister Ambermoon though, cause you know ponywaifu reasons. :P

Naw. Tempest is taller, and considerably older, than Lilymoon.

and one day she will Change her manecolor, call herself Tempest and will also lead some Invasion force.
