Get rid of the logging locos, replace them with Edward, Henry, Gordon, Duck, Donald, Douglas, and Oliver; and you’ll have a good selection of characters.

Eyes: Opened Up
Bobrella: The original show was filmed with model railway layouts, with custom-built locomotive models that had a moving eye mechanism and resin-cast faces. It’s really extraordinary how detailed and charming the sets looked.

It's a cartoon show!
Yeah I would have loved to see how the original series was filmed with all those sets. I think that way it was all done added a charm to the series that is all lost when it was purely made as CGI only.
