For @tchernobog, without any particular reason :) (Disclaimer: I don’t know anything about wakeboarding and never tried it…
Actually, I doubt that I would do more water-skiing pictures anytime soon :) It was a completely random idea that came to me when I did some pose sketches. However, now I’ve learnt something new :)
No worries, though I would perhaps question you as to why you would want to do a water-skiing series if you were to do so.
Thank you very much for the detailed explanation! I’ll keep it in mind if I do more pictures like this.
That is to say, unless she’s doing something rather advanced and this is just a freeze frame before she catches some major air, she’s about to nose down and get a very personal lesson on the incompressiblity of water.
She’ll be fine though. Just wanted to point out that her center of gravity should be just over the furthermost point of the board touching the water, and in general she’d probably be lower down if she could help it. Not sure how the latter works with horse anatomy, though you can look up pictures of water-skiing and wake-boarding and you’ll see that most of the people shown are kind of in a half squat. Since if your center of gravity goes too far forward you’ll wipe out immediatley, and at speed water can give your bruises so that’s something that you avoid if you can.
Nice picture though.
