Afraid so. Luna the Matchmaker (that’s the fic associated with it, you can find it on fimfiction.net) has a point where Rarity and Spike travel to Manehatten to see Rarity’s biological parents and to see once and for all why her parents basically abandoned Rarity not long after Sweetie Belle was born. Thankfully it eventually lightens up a bit, but boy there is plenty of dark before the light. All I can say for Rarity is that there is a reason why we have the phrase ‘Daddy’s Little Girl’…

As for Dinky, YMMV, but pretty much Derpy was sexually assaulted, and we can kinda imply that that encounter was something similar to what happened in the Dash Academy comics. Doctor Hooves (later known as Julian) did meet her and she became his assistant, but eventually fell in love, and their love was so strong that he decided that he didn’t want to be a TimeLord anymore and actually blew up his TARDIS to stay with Derpy and be a stepfather to Dinky. Eventually the two actually have a foal of their own, so Dinky’s an exuberant loving half-sister.
