This is Earthshaker. He is Wandering Moonbeam’s uncle, who was sealed into the core of the world for roughly as long as Moonbeam was alive, along with his many sisters. (Including Moonmane and Shadowstar, Moonbeam’s true and surrogate mother.) They finally managed to break free about ten years before the present day.He is the only male member of Moonbeam’s extended family.

He and his sisters were originally made by pinkmane with me doing the initial design for Earthshaker exclusively.I figured it was about time to update him since i got a lot better at drawing ponies with proper vector art.His mane and tail is not the basic 5 pixel wide stroke with an inner filling, because they are meant to simulate the crown of a tree, with his coat color simulating the bark of an Oak. (His tail shape also roughly resembles an Oak leaf.)

Naturally, like any spellcasting member of the Whitetail or the Wandering family, he is an Elemental mage, specialized in Earth Magic.He and his sisters are approximately 2000 years older than Moonbeam and Shadowbeam.

His main weapon is the Equestrian equivalent of the Megaton Hammer known from Zelda.He had to use it to return Volvagia to her senses in a rather dire situation.When he found the hammer in the Fire Temple, he was accompanied by Firesparkle and Snowbreeze, his two sisters, one being the resident Fire and the other being the resident Ice mage of the family. (With Moonbeam being the second Ice Mage in the lineage.)
