I apologize to everyone for bumping a 5-year old thread, but is there any fan art that accurately depicts pony-oriented weapons in this way, instead of just importing gun models from other games (3D), or using real-life guns as a exact reference (2D art)?
Hey, I’m not stopping you.
Too bad. This is a really interesting concept.
I think it’s just a joke.

For lockpicking, the ‘skills’ were always more of a set of perks that you just happened to buy with skillpoints; The important improvements (being able to open new locks) happened on full increments of 25, generally.
I get the appeal of skills in theory, but in practice I find the perk-system better for just about everything previously handled by skills, especially weapon-use, and it wouldn’t make sense to have a system just for the rest.
Still wish they were keeping the voiced protagonist, though.
And make dialogue choices meaningful.
4 took out the skills, though. Hope they bring those back in the next game.
And that’s the way Fallout 4 works anyway.
That was a good one.
Inside jokes you say? My favourite is Pip getting a lock picking magazine or something, reading it then putting it in her bag, saying “It’s not like you can’t read a book twice, right?”
That’s the route Colonel Autumn Leaf takes, he tells Pip that basically the enclave is the best bet for the future and that the wasteland and it’s inhabitants need to be tamed. Although their taming is more of a purge.
I think “for the greater good” could work (if they’re similar to their Fallout companion), and are wiling do do cruel, evil deeds in order for future generations to avoid the atrocities they committed.
I did say with a couple of exceptions, Calamity’s brother has a merciful moment and the one enclave who gets upset at the filly getting turned to ash by his officer are the two I was talking about, for the most part though they’re just a force that needs to be stopped. I was okay with the portrayal though as they are far from the only antagonists in the story and like I said they do have their moments, it could have been better but it wasn’t awful either.

yeah I generally see most of the enclave as more “just following orders” in fear of being branded and thrown from the clouds than “we are all evil”
The enclave could have been handled a little better yeah, the story took more of Fallout 3’s approach to the enclave instead of 2’s. In the second game the Enclave had good dialogue and gave them humanizing moments whereas in 3 they were just an evil presence that needed to be exterminated and that’s about what they were in the story. The story tried to add a little more like the fact the enclave have actual citizens who aren’t aware of the brutal tactics their government employs but we never see them till the very end of the story, so the military of the enclave are held as evil with a couple of exceptions the entire time.

Except fifty shades of grey is commonly held as bad even by those who have read it whereas FO:E is not. The only thing I can say that wasn’t great about the story was the enclave could have been done a little better and how the original released version had grammar errors but given how long it was and how KKat didn’t have an editor that was to be expected and it has since been edited and copied to actual book formats.
The story itself was compelling, one of the few stories that kept me wanting to see what would happen next. It used references from nearly every fallout game and had good inside jokes the fans would get like the clipboards and coffee cups. Overall it was a good story that made it’s own subfandom within the fandom and is generally regarded as one of the best MLP fics.
If you don’t like it that’s completely understandable, unless you’re both a fan of MLP and Fallout you probably won’t care for it but calling it bad because it’s not to that persons personal taste is pretty petty.

You make it sound like it’s a fact that Fo:E is badly written, and considering you said you’re a fan of it, that’s kinda shameful. It’s many pegs above what you’d expect out of fan fiction, as far as quality and effort go, and I’d say it’s easily deserving of the attention it’s gotten.
And hardback and softback books you can order online and buy at bookstores
