I don’t hate fidget spinners - I know they’re a great tool for people (mostly those on the autism spectrum) who need to stim frequently.
 
What I don’t like is how this important tool for one sector of society has become the latest fad toy for practically everybody else and their dog.  
And how some kids play with them around adults loudly and deliberately just to annoy said adults (there were a few kids doing this in the Cub Pack I run, a couple of years ago). But because of their therapeutic purpose for those who genuinely need them, it’s nigh-on impossible to call the kids out on it, because maybe just maybe they genuinely do need them. (Even though they’d only gotten one long after it became a popular fad). And it’d look bad and discriminatory.
 
And if that makes me an old, farty geezer hipster…then so be it, I guess. xD

When done right, their graphics can be as magnificent as a beautiful landscape painting.

Alot of shows have done it. Futurama, Sonic X, the Kirby anime, to name a few.
 
Interestingly, the current Nick TMNT show is a reverse, as it is a mainly-3D/CGI show, that occasionally mixes in 2D animation. (For some of the facial expressions, flashbacks, and hilariously the turtles’ favorite cartoon shows.)

I have also seen that EqG and the upcoming pony movie (especially with the airship) use a mixture of 3D and 2D as well. Here are some examples:

I liked that movie, I miss 2D animation, even when it’s mixed with 3D. (Granted, animated movies have had CGI sense the ‘80s. Like the 3D clock tower scene in “Great Mouse Detective,” or Mr. Sykes’ car in “Oliver & Company.”)

I actually have pogs, including one that says “Trust the Fungus.” (From the Super Mario Bros. movie.)

I am rather impressed by how good the fidget spinner’s 3D animation is: it reminds me of the smooth, lined animations used for the machinery in “Atlantis: The Lost Empire”.

Damn… am I a geezer hipster? I’m one of those people who still refuses to own a cell phone or tablet… so I think I may be.

I kinda like how the dialogue is animated. I’m oddly imaging that “Link to the Past” text dialogue sound effect for it.

I remember back when people were calling MLP:FiM a “dumb fad” too.

Hating fidget spinners is like hating a dog for wearing a collar. I understand the cringey social media aspect of it, but that’s the users, not the device itself.

That’s okay, I don’t get it either Twily.

Whenever I see a post of a pony saying something like, “Humans are weird.” all I can think is, “Yeah.”

Watching it… so hypnotic… can’t look away…
