Smart, small and moe. Lelei is that awesome combo of Twilight’s curiosity and studiousness (and resulting intelligence) and Fluttershy’s quiet and gentle demure, making her best waifu ever :pMy brother’s been getting me into a little anime recently. The series before this is ReCreators. She and Meteora are very similar. Are mage characters like this a common trope in anime?
The setting needs really OP wizards and beasts (like huge, very powerful dragons) to really have a hope of being balanced in any way. And all classes except the rogue, and perhaps wizard, can just be forgotten, unless like an orc barbarian has enough strength to be like a Call of Duty juggernaut (ie, carry inhuman amounts of armor).
I was the only member of my party that survived gunshots. Then we realized that this was a very unbalanced campaign.
You mean the ceramic plate or some mythic enchanted armor?
Why not both? Xp
I did a thing like that once with my friends. It didn’t end well for anyone except for me, thanks to super strong armor.
Funny thing, my DM and I have been plotting a “Modern meets D&D” campaign for about a month now. GATE has kicked off so many good ideas, we almost don’t want to continue our traditional campaign. XD
I know, right?
I was very happy with that.
It’s also one of the very rare instances where the English dub does not suck.
GATE ticks off so many damn boxes of stuff I like. I wish I had known about it sooner.
Genre mashups like that are way too rare. They can be terrible sometimes, especially if they just focus on the mashup as a gimmick without providing any story, setting or characters, but it’s fun to see how far we’ve come from the medieval ages. In more than just a power fantasy - though it’s also a bit of that - it’s neat to contrast just how far we’ve come.
Totally agree. When I first watched it, it made me think of a HIE fanfic. After a while, I pushed those thoughts from my head and thought to myself “hey, this is awesome!”
Yay. Someone else here has seen it :q
It was good. Doesn’t get enough love.
