Well, fans suspect the ego, might be just partially an act, and assume she's more sympathetic deep down, and such. Newer episodes have shown she has a nicer personality deep down, and she genuinely likes being Starlight's friend, and did help save the Mane 6.

Or some just find her amusing, or like her design.
 
Also, a li'l heads-up. (Admins still know who you are even when you're posting under anonymous status, or logged out. So I'd be careful with the passive-aggressive-ness.)
