Ahh. I didn’t remember when I made the comment.
I would think burlesque was popular about the same time as this and other Victorian styles like southern belle clothes. I feel this style was a result of a carryover from pre-1900 Victorian fashion, then came flapper dresses for dancers during the roaring 20’s.
Don’t quote me on any of this. I might know things about women’s fashion, but I’m making educated guesses about what I said above.
