Electricity was still a relatively new thing that most places in the world didn't have, cars were merely horseless carriages, horses were still the primary mode of transportation for most parts of the world aside from rail trains, airplanes were in thewir infant stages in technological development, and the Morse Code was the main form of electronic communication.
