Thanks. She was old, though, and that was many, many years ago. If that’s what happened, she went out the way she wanted to: unreasonably angry at the local wildlife.

We’re pretty sure that she tried to pick a fight with an alligator. She disappeared not long after she started going down to the river, which was full of them.

Heh. I think the cat I had as a kid was broken. That girl would go looking for fights (and had the scars to prove it). On multiple occasions we’d come home to find dead snakes, possums and so forth. I’ll always remember when we came home one night to find it cornering a rattlesnake. Big one, too. About six feet long. That cat had the survival instinct of lemming. The video game kind.
There were some videos with cats going crazy and running away from cucumbers before that went viral. Something about it looking like a snake and the cats generally run away from snake-looking objects from their survival instincts.
