First of all, the only hypocrite here is you. You constantly whine about how flash is Bland and how he sucks in how he’s never going to be interesting in any way shape or form despite several examples being applied to you. And don’t give me that garbage “those are just headcanons and nothing more” excuse, aside from the idea of him teaching Sunset Shimmer how to play a guitar most of the characteristics that I brought up are taken directly from the movies and or the shorts that he’s appeared in. In other words you have no way of proving that they’re NOT canon.
 
You’re the hypocrite here because I can actually provide actual evidence to some of the characteristics, you simply go on the logic that he’s bland because you want him to be bland.
 
Second of all, as I mentioned above, almost each and every one of the characteristics that I have brought up for him are taken from the movies and the shorts themselves, therefore you are not even allowed to whine about the writers not doing anything for him, mainly because they are sneaking in little snippets of characterization for him here and there in order to fleash him out more. If you used your brain and paid attention you would realize that.
 
Third of all, you basically shot yourself in the foot by trying to compare him to characters like the Mane 6, Sunset, Spike, Discord, and Celestia, why you ask? The answer is simple:
 
THEY ARE ALL MAJOR MAIN CHARACTERS IN THE SERIES.
 
Flash Sentry is a side character at best and a background character at worst. In other words you don’t get to make the exact same argument for them as you do for him. And as proven by the 100th episode, the writers already know that we give characters who only appear in the background or as side characters more depth and characterization, therefore that combined with the the characterization from the movies and the shorts, there’s literally no excuse for you to complain about him being Bland.
 
Once again, you’re just being lazy, or you’re too busy looking for excuses to hate him back you don’t pay attention when he actually does get small bits of characterization here and there.
 
In other words, you Justified yourself hating him by making up excuses for you not paying attention or completely just missing any characterization made in his favor just so you can continue to hate him.

I mean, I’m not gonna deny I’m as stubborn as it gets, but if there’s one difference between us, it’s that one of us isn’t a hypocrete.
 
And I mean, you can come up with a lot of ways of making him interesting, making your own headcanons to view him in a better light, sure, that’s all fine and dandy, and all the more power to you, but none of that is going to be Canon just because it’s in your head. Believe it or not, I’ve actually done the same! Just so that his presence around would infuriate me less. But here’s the thing, partner, it doesn’t matter how many headcanons and interpretations we come up with, because his canon self is still gonna be the same bland same. It’s not me who’s lazy for just calling him bland, it’s the writing team who were lazy as fuck with his characterization and just went for the most stereotypical thing they could find for a male love interest. Am I lazy for not investing energy and effort in viewing him in a better way? Answer me this then: Why should in the first place, when the writing’s given me basically no reason to invest myself in the character? They’ve done great for making me invested in the Mane 6, in Sunset, in Spike, and even some side characters like Discord, Celestia, and others, but Flash? Again, it’s them who put absolutely no effort into his character, let alone his “romance” with Princess Twilight, and no amount of headcanons we make, or details we pick, is gonna change that.
 
I mean, forget about whether he’s interesting or not. That may be subjective, yeah, but here’s one thing you can’t possibly debate: He’s nowhere as developed, characterized or explored as any of the protagonists, let alone given their depth. If anything, I feel like the only way he can be interesting (for some people) is precisely as the blank slate that he is, so that viewers may project on him, but then it means the writers have probably realized that and decided to keep it so, which only means they’re gonna keep characterizing Flash as minimalistically as possible. In other words, they’ve justifed themselves being as lazy as they can possibly be with his writing.
