Well, it’s taken a while to get this page done, but it’s finally here! This is what happens when life (and the other five projects I’ve gotten myself into) get in the way. Still, this will be the last delay this series will have. From next month onward, the pages will be produced monthly.
So finally, and after all these many pages, we’ve finally arrived to the meat and potatoes of the Hearths Warming Eve mythology. This picture here is almost a 1:1 recreation of that shot from the cartoon, where you can see the leaders of the three tribes coinciding at the same time and in the same place in their respective discoveries of Equestria. To the show’s credit, the original shot did show the characters and the scenery fairly well, but it always left me lukewarm when it came to the scope of the story. Making the characters smaller and the scenery even bigger increases the scope, as well as the stakes for what’s yet to come. I have to say, for all the work I put on page 12, I kind of feel I made it more green than it should’ve been. So I splashed some more color on it, and gave each of the tribes different shading palettes (blue for the unicorns, brown and gold for the earth ponies, and emerald and blue for the pegasi). I think it makes the picture a bit more lively. What do you guys think?
Please, feel free to share your ideas, thoughts and theories in the comments.
