I’ll agree the way they did it was flawed, but I don’t agree about the CMC.  
Might be from how I have cousin with kids with the oldest just 2 years younger then me and the youngest about 10 or so years younger, so I have seen how someone can get more mature but still act like a kids, so the CMC seemed on point to me.

Am I the only one who was hoping this was by Andy Price?

I won’t deny that some of my distaste is from the ship itself, but as I said, the execution was bad, and would taste sour for even ships that I like.

I wonder if Sugar Belle and Big Mac could blast luna with the power of their love since Sugar Belle is a unicorn and they really love each other. Or do you need to be princess of love to be able to do that?

No. The CMC are suppose to be more mature than that (Sweetie even had an entire episode around it), Feather was only there to get in they way and be the “cool guy that girls like,” Sugar never showed annoyance at Feather until the song, giving the impression that she didn’t have a problem with it until the script needed her to hate the attention, and the cherry on top is Sweetie calling Mac’s first crush “true love.” Even in dumb chick-flicks that’s BS. I have more problems with this than just the ship. It honestly feels like Heart and Hooves without the cleverness and humor.
