Maybe a year between Sputnik and Star Wars; I dunno. XD

Games pretty much went from Pong to this, it was a big deal.
And then we got shit like Pitstop 2 or Pitfall or Mrs. Pacman or Dark Castle or Cinemaware games…
I was born in the early 90’s so sadly I don’t have such memories. I DO however remember the days when something like Deus Ex was rare in the industry and when Crytek could wow both PC and console players with how amazing their graphics were.
Defender was bloody amazing you’re damned right it’d be a big deal.
I still remember when it was A Very Big Deal if a pinball machine got moved out to make room for a Space Invaders or Defender cabinet.
Then again, gaming culture didn’t start to hit the mainstream permanently until after the crash. Either way, it’s ridiculous seeing the stuff coming out from the last 2 generations if you put yourself in the mindset of someone from the time of the first 6 generations.
Yeah, ‘89 is a reeeeeally long time after Star Wars for that to be the year you want for that analogy. I’d have gone with the fifties or sixties; a couple years before Apollo 11. :T
Well, I mean, there were lightguns, and this came out that year…
Were there movies that predicted waggling plastic sticks in the air counted as gameplay?
inb4 the U-Force
@NudistHorse
There were plenty of movies about VR by 1989…
They’d call you a witch and through you in the river.
