The Twilicane became a massive meme, and the only reason Derpy is Derpy is because of the fandom.

It’s whatever he is potrayed as in Gauntlet of Fire and whenever he isn’t portrayed as in Princess Spike or Triple Threat.
I don’t know how or when they like an episode. My guess is they think the only “good” Spike episodes have him free of any mistakes or flaws.
Its whether a majority of /mlp/ board liked the episode or not. Triple Threat was a bad Spike episode but a decent Ember and Thorax episode.
That still doesn’t give us any insight.
What about in the dreams when we saw foal-Applejack being cradled by her parents? Seems like that should count.
