Sorry, been benge-watching the 2000s “Justice League” & “Justice League Unlimited” shows before Netflix takes them down in August. Those shows are surprisingly “grown up” for “kid shows.”
Well in that particular case, it was partially due to an executive mandate limiting Superman to the only Kryptonian. But yeah, that was a crazy origin. Peter David does good stuff, it just didn’t fit the character.

Wow that’s a deep callback. But you’re right, Supergirl has some messed up lore in DC comics, like they’ve never known what to do with her character.
EditComics are weird, but that is the actual backstory for that Supergirl.
