Indeed
I just think any EU state without the Euro is bound to not feel compelled to stay. Plus a variety of other factors that make the UK even less likely to stay above that.

That’s a very wide excluded middle.
Historical inevitability does not follow from your premise. Other member states have varying degrees of involvement too, and did not leave. It took an outright reversal of direction in the body politic whose staying power is yet to be determined to even notify on Article 50 - this post-referendum choice was not inevitable. We’re frankly in uncharted and negotiable territory even now. You’ll forgive me if I say that talk of inevitability sounds awfully simplistic, and untrue.
“It was inevitable”. No. Continental drift and stellar evolution are inevitable. Political upheavals are matters of whim, frenzy, influence, and regret.
Britain was never fully invested in it. Leaving was inevitable.
Couldn’t have put it any better way. Hope it works out for you, for what it’s worth.
What there is to be proud of is our very different peoples’ shared threads of learning, trade, art, science, and the hard-won evening-out of power. I’ve always seen the European project as a continuation of those threads, and it has been a very great force for peace and prosperity as a result. We could do with understanding its history better.
You’re a laff m8. There’s been mistakes, no doubt about it, but the peace is worth it.
Free our nations!
Is complicated, the Europe’s day is celebrated the same way as the “Day of the father” and similars.
The most I celebrated it was in School at the same level that the national day
Yeah, but the question was if we do US style military parades and fireworks here. Which just isn’t how things are done in Europe.
The 9 of may of 1950 Robert Schuman proposed the creation of the European Comunity of Carbon and Steel that with the years will evolve into the European Union
Not quite, but that’s par for the course for most european national holidays anyway.
(\ thanks dude
