They really did…
(Red death was the giant villain dragaon in HTTYD 1 for anyone wondering)
keep in mind this is just a magically conjured imagination spot of twilights. things are not necessarily accurate to reality.
He’s more than three times the size of all the other ADULT dragons we’ve seen before (the ponies, Spike and the teen dragons looked like bugs for him), yet here the teen dragons look huge in comparition, almost the size of his entire face. And the way he flies in front of some of the teens means he’s not further away, so it really is a f*ck up.
Compare this with his size in GoF, where Garble and Ember were even smaller than one of his eyes.
@QueenCold
You’re both forgetting one crucial detail, Composition. Those dragons are not the focus of the shot, so the eyes wouldn’t be drawn to them and thus would be unable to notice them. Afaik, you’re the only people who noticed this. As for the animation, His wings move smoothly and there’s no reason to expect his facial expression to change within the shot.
Keep in mind the “hug” joke from Gauntlet of Fire - Garble was no bigger than Torch’s snout. Now, here it could be Garble looks really large and one could chalk that to perspective if he was flying much closer to the camera than Torch, but then Torch’s animation goes over the pink dragon, which we know is about the same size as Garble. So this shot has no effective perspective. Which means that relative to Torch and Starlight (who I would estimate is the right size relative to Torch) the other dragons are too large by at least half.
Nice buzzword. This isn’t exactly some random inbetween frame where a character is off-model for a split second between key frames. The sizes are way off for an extended period of time and it is immediately obvious. If suddenly Angel bunny were the size of a house, you would not call it a nitpick if people pointed that out.
The animation of Torch, who is the focus, is jerky and the quality is more reminiscent of season one, especially with the expressionless face.
nice nitpicking. Also, what’s wrong with the animation?
thanks, apanx!
