Can confirm. People called her Berry Punch precisely because of this scene, and that’s when the alcoholism link was established. Previously, people called her OPPP for Over-Protective Parent Pony (for her behavior toward the filly in Bridle Gossip.)
Seems a vague connection at best, but the fandom is well know for running with less.
