“While everyone goes off and praises Luna, constantly loving her, giving her attention, and doing everything for her, Celestia doesn’t get anything. She gets no love or compassion, only hate, slander, and being ignored. She doesn’t want that. While she should be happy about her sister getting some love after a thousand years, it shouldn’t be at the expense of the other being completely ignored/hated.  
I know that Celestia doesn’t receive as much hate as she use to, but she still gets flack every now and then. Hopefully this season she’ll get the attention and love she deserved from the very start.”

Lunar Supporter - Helped forge New Lunar Republic's freedom in the face of the Solar Empire's oppressive tyrannical regime (April Fools 2023).

And then Luna hugs her and comforts her and helps her face this problem.  
The pain Luna had to go through so much makes her not want anyone else suffer that same kind of pain.  
Nightmare Moon(even though she harbors ill intent on others if someone pisses her off) would actually not want to see anyone else go through that same pain.

That’s some good quality bait my friend. I’m sure Princess Celestia would actually get lots of nice fanmail. She is like a big mommy horse, and is actually nice to people.
 
Princess Luna is pretty popular with the teenager/misunderstood people crowd. And I can appreciate that too.
 
Oh and though I called this bait, I do enjoy this drawing. :D
