Ohhhhh, then could i use it if she’s old?
You sure must be fun within groups or parties.
The image has a very messy composition, with a lot going on but only Twilight remaining distinct, though with her bright colors now barely noticeable. Spike cameos in the corner in corpse sprawl - a pale spectre fading into the canvas and surrounding chaos.
Twilight resembles a macabre doll with a malformed general anatomy, lacking the details that distinguish her hair and tail. Her bangs - in addition to lacking either their wave or their separation - are a bit too long, giving her a cold if not dead glare by hiding not only her brows but even a substantial part of her lashes. Her snout appears to have been drawn on a la cubism, and while her forehooves are bloated clubs, her back legs end in a harrowing spider taper. Her cutie mark has been positioned to require the least possible amount of curving around her obscenely proportioned rump, and the lines of her inner thighs cut deep in a mysteriously jagged weave. Atop her head rest a pair of donkey ears carved from obsidian, threatening to cut wayward hands going in for petsies.
Strewn about the image are random bits of glass; but due to the many pieces of the image fading into one another, there is no clear illustration of why. Has Twilight shattered something with her spellin’ stick in a sudden fit of rage? Three shards are pointed directly towards (or away) from the head of the scepter, but the others are not. They may as well be random bits of glass independently shattered that are slowly orbiting dangerously around her from her sheer psychic power.
The main grace of the image is in its soft shading, particularly on Twilight’s ceramic form, as well as the wild mix of colors and blue dots all about her. This adds a subtle feel of “detail” and fullness to an otherwise very flat piece, and distracts the public from the imperfect foundations, like a beautiful cloth over a nicked table.
I was trying to make my point as briefly as possible, but in retrospect “snappy” is probably too slangy to communicate with a wider audience. Let me restate in longer terms:
In comparison to “twilight scepter”, “twicane” is shorter, more memorable, and, to use an idiom that resists easy explanation, rolls off the tongue better; thus, “twicane” is the more popular term in the fandom, by a wide margin. But a cane is a tool to aid one’s walking, whereas a scepter is a staff used as a symbol of (royal) authority; thus, “twilight scepter” is a more accurate description and the one used as the tag here on Derpibooru.
how is it snappy? it’s a good nickname. and if that’s the case, why bother having it in the first place?
Yeah, I know almost everyone calls it the “twicane”, but it’s tagged
twilight scepter
(which is a less snappy but more accurate name).Twilight’s furthest back leg is just….wrong.
Also, her horn looks like it’s been added as an afterthought. The mane doesn’t flow around it.
Aside from those, a worthy feature, and a dynamic image.
anyway, SMASHING!
Leg armor.
And those are? Some sort of shoes
he’s clearly wearing the dragon version of greaves
No
