Indeed, not to mention I see bronies/fans gush over whenever they see a pony fanart piece crossing-over something they like. (Such as say Halo+Pony, or say Derpy dressed like Link.) Yet, get angry if it’s “Sanik.” Kinda double-standards really. I mean people don’t have to like the blue-blur, but they should let others enjoy him if they still like him.
 
Thankies! It’s very nice to hear that compliment, sense some people give me guff about my opinions on the Sonic series, and such. (Not just here, but on DA. One guy banned me from his DA page, just ‘cause I corrected him on something false he said/claimed about the Sonic comic series.)  
One guy (I won’t say who) even stated he downvotes any Sonic/pony pic, I comment on here. (Not that I care what he thinks, I just find that funny/petty.) I even asked him what his issue was with me when he said that, and I have yet to get a response.  
Oh well, it’s kinda flattering to have a “hater” here. Haters make good pets, but are hard to house-break. :P
 
I also agree, I know many bronies won’t admit it, but there are some similarities between both fanbases. I remember seeing a brony/fan on DA bashing Sonic fans for “Making to many recolor O.C.s/Fan-characters.” Said person in their DA gallery had several pony recolor O.C.s… (Talk about the pot & kettle…)
 
Also, as both a brony, and Sonic fan, I remember back when the “Twilicorn” drama/controversy started, a similar drama was happening in the Sonic fanbase over Sonic comic/cartoon character Princess Sally (whom isn’t from the games BTW) getting redesigned in the official Sonic comic series.  
Some even said hilariously similar things like, “Sally is dead to me,” and such.

I found that bronies are hating on crossovers with Sonic is quite ironic. Remember from a few years ago when people lost their sh!t because there are literally ponies everywhere?

Of all the bronies/Sonic fan here on Derpibooru, you are one of the few who doesn’t lost your sh1t and can give out solid arguments when people are bashing Sonic for no reason like the anti-bronies does to MLP. And just like you said, I found Derpibooru’s hate on Sonic is ironic considering all the flaks we got from mlp-haters. Also, I found that both fandom are quite similar, considering their activities they do.

I kinda like Tails actually, (he’s like the Luigi of the series) especially his adorable goggles redesign in “Sonic Boom.”
 
I don’t get why some bronies are trying to “shame” people for liking Sonic. It’s ironic, ‘cause they don’t like pony-haters doing that to them.  
(Some here tried to give me guff for being “Derpibooru’s resident Sonic expert,” though I have a more “neutral” opinion on the series, and haven’t been keeping up with the Sonic games honestly, nothing against them… I’m more of a “Mario” fan, believe it, or not.)  
I do still subscribe to the Sonic comics, and am looking forward to the new “Sonic Boom” TV series though.

True, the hate trend is annoying and is getting old already. I love to see that more seasoned gamers and members of Derpibooru are joining this new Sonic anti-hate trend.
 
However, to the risk of being unpopular, I have to say that, as a character and fan of the Sonoc saga, I always prefered that fluffy rascal Tails: I love to pick him on Sonic II and III.

Spike knows this but get’s all puppy dog eyed when ever he doesn’t get to carry Rarity’s stuff.

Yeah, I feel this is one of the better Sonifications, so it gets an upvote from me. At least the haters have been quiet in the comments instead of going, “ZOMG Sanik suxorz! DOWNVOTE!” I don’t like “Halo,” but you don’t see me downvoting every “Halo+Pony” crossover on the site…

While the ‘90s “cool” attitude may be a bit outdated nowadays, I still love the blue blur. (Despite the ups & downs his series has had.) In fact, one thing I think is getting even more old/annoying then that is the trendy Sanik-hate to that Game Informer, and such have popularized…
 
Still, despite the hatedom he gets online, Sonic’s still getting new games, appeared in the Smash Bros. series 3 times, is getting a new TV series, and he has 3 simultaneously running comic book series…  
He’s doing quite well for a so-called “dead/hated” video game character.

Another reason could be Sonic’s oh-so-90s cool-cat attitude. Many of us lived with it back then and do not care, we just played on our MD/GEN and enjoyed, but I can understand he has gotten a bit old.
 
However, as a Sega man, I’m going to try to make up for all the downvotes, for old times sake and for all the joy that hedgehog brought me from 1992 to 1998.

it usally depends on the quality of the image though this one doesn’t look too bad so i don’t know why this one’s getting downvoted

To be fair, I think this artist makes good pictures with the Sonic style. I’ll give this one an upvote.
