Who’s to say they weren’t? I mean we never get confirmation they’re not there. The point is that we’ve never had confirmation they’ve been dead despite what people have been reading into the fan idea. And just to be clear I’m more in the camp that thinks the fan idea should hold up and not have them be alive in the present time, it’s just that at no pint has it ever been explicitly stated as such therefore it is subject to change with no retconning of established event.

No it doesn’t say so, this is why you have to look at the lines out of context. What did Applejack exactly say? “Mom and Dad would be so proud if they were hear right now.” Where does it at any point in that sentence indicate their living status? It doesn’t. Yes form the context of the fandom’s perceptive this seems to be a confirmation on Applejack’s parents dying but nothing in the sentence indicates it as so. Look at what words are being used and how they are, it can tell you a lot. If nothing is explicitly confirmed then don’t assume it is.

See they were died when she said that but after Glimmer screwed around with time when things got fixed some things in the timeline were changed.
