I apologize if my ramblings made my point too unclear. I haven’t missed anything. What I mean is, Whitley did good with Blueblood. Now while this may be another version of him, how many people saw the detailed Whitley version? Now they’ll just see this version and it’ll feed their biases. (Look how many images this is getting on derpibooru compared to the old FF). Whitley “fixed” him; no one will care now that he’s a “good guy” in the canon timeline, if all they have to work off of is this Deviation saying “Blueblood becoming Celestia’s student would be a very very bad thing because Blueblood is the worst”
You know what Deviations but you missed how this isn’t undoing anything as it’s a whole other set or events…
And you being a feminist isn’t going to make me see how you seem to miss what is going on, because I’m in the same bout there, I’m one going for true gender equality, but this has nothing to do with any of that as it’s about a another version of him, not the same one as before.
But to contrast this with the other case, you might as well contrast with with Trixie or Shining Armor, or Discord.
It’s not the same person but another VERSION of him, you feeling of the other one might be based on things that do not effect this one.
It’s like crying over how Optimus Prime in Animated isn’t like Optimus Prime in G1, it’s not same Optimus Prime.
This is not the same Blueblood.

Yeah, but it still undoes all the good work Whitley did with him and makes him into the 2D hate sink most of the fandom views him as. People who haven’t seen the FF will just have their blind Blueblood hate reinforced. Also I’m not sure being tutored in magic by his aunt should’ve made him turn out to be a worse pony (though one can come up with reasonably plausible-sounding explanations).
Why… why do I care again? Oh right.
Originally it was a “principle of the thing” thing. I’m a feminist - no, not a cardboard cutout strawman like so many people in this fandom believe in - I actually believe in true gender equality, and call out either sex being treated unfairly. I actually got into MLP because of feminism.
So anyway, right, the clear double standard with Trixie and Blueblood was not something I was a fan of.
But over time I’ve come to genuinely love Blueblood (Whitley’s FF really helped with that) and like any silly fanboy I don’t like seeing my prince hated on :(
Did you not know what Deviations is about?
@Daring-Do
It’s the My Little Pony: Deviations comic from IDW.
Where did this comic come from?
Doesn’t it have a link?
Which makes perfect sense considering Celestia’s track record of inevitably driving students, little sisters, etc. evil, mad, or both.

Oh ya, this is the Deviations comics.
It wouldn’t matter if the comics had continuity between them, this one is meant to be a completely stand alone story.

To be fair, this is an AU Blueblood whom Princess Celestia tried to make her protege. Naturally he comes out worse than the “canon” Blueblood, whatever that’s supposed to be.
Guess you’re right.
@Kamazeustra
They probably are self contained for the most part, they don’t seem to call back to one another very often if at all.
Aren’t all the different IDW series basically self contained? I haven’t been keeping up, but from what gets posted here it looks like there’s only about as much continuity as exists between two Looney Tunes shorts.
Well with only two legitimate uses and professed ‘for shits and giggles’ aim with this issue, there’s nowhere to go but up.
He’s flying Air Pinochet?
