Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk
I’m a stallion’s mare, no time to talk
Magic strong and friendship warm
Though I’ve been avoiding it since I was born
Oh yes, you’re right, i forgot to mention that part too, they alternate, front goes up and back goes down and vice versa. Each part goes up as a hoof raises, so for an entire walk loop the front and back each go up and back down twice.

That was NOT a sassy response!
And neither is mine… this was good before and even better now! It’s like watching Jello wiggle.
Edited because: Additional information.
I want to cuddle this cute marshmallow bookworm :D

@ArcticPony
The jank in the back leg is caused by the IK rig
To me it looks like the poor thing torqued her knee, and is dropping a little involuntary muscle shudder as the cartilage binds up at full extension. Horses and ponies definitely do that, and “a little involuntary muscle shudder” is pretty significant when you’re talking about a chunk of meat the size of a pillow.
No problem 👍
A nice little extra detail I like to do, is have the tail sway from side to side slightly, due to the glutes pushing/pulling the dock, I made a walk cycle myself some time ago with my own crappy model, also has the 4-step rhythm
step pattern goes something like Front Left -> Back Right -> Front Right -> Back Left.
For a very short time, 3 hooves may be on the floor at the same time, though it depends on how fast they’re walking i think. In my example, each hoof would be on the ground for 2/3 and in the air for 1/3 of the entire loop
Yes that timing looks better and also makes the legs not collide with each other, how could I miss this?
The jank in the back leg is caused by the IK rig suddenly hitting the limit of bone rotation, it does the last distance by stretching.
I have fixed this by simply moving all legs forward a bit.
Thank you for your valuable feedback, I will rerender and reupload these changes sometimes in the future.
Little jank in the back leg as it stretches out, presumably because of the IK rigging, or the close but not perfect loop.
Ponies/horses actually walk with a 4-step cycle, not a 2-step (unless they are in a canter or something, i think?), back and front legs do not land at the same time
