“Oh, uh, before I forget, the Stork was kinda choking on that last batch while I was halfway through the Appleoosa leg, when I set her down to try and figure it out I pulled this stuff out of her filter. Did someone accidentally dump some cotton stuffing into one of the storage tanks, or something?”
“Uh… y-yeah, was a complete accident, heh, yup, just somepony bumpin’ a cart the wrong way… let’s go with that.”
“Uh-huh… Well, important thing is the filter caught it, I don’t wanna know what it could’ve done to the engine if it got in there, let alone if I were still flying when it did. Anyways, this tank ready?”
“Ahm… yanno, actually, ah’m gonna go an’ just double-check… how about a discount on this one, too.”
So, while Cotton stuffing mixed in cider (>>1278315) might not be great for drinking anymore, a little refinement, filtering, and distilling means it can still be used as a fuel in some robust internal-combustion engines. Of course, does help if you’re absolutely sure that what you send out is completely free of the stuff, because I’m willing to bet there’s a noticeable difference between a generator or tractor choking on some stuffing and an aircraft choking on it…
