It’s a lot of little things. If you zoom into full size on that render, you can even see texturing detail for Spike’s scales.
so more detail in the ears but still the simple wings with only more detail on those for princesses?
oh hey i hadn’t seen that, that’s actually pretty cool, they have horse ears now. going by that picture, i think he will fit in alright with that style… as much as an anthropomorphic cat can in the MLP universe. people are getting legitimately upset, i’m just wildly curious as to how it’ll play out. thanks for sharing that pic!
If you compare it against the animation used in the show, maybe. But honestly it looks like he’ll fit right in with the animation style they’re using for the movie:
The movie’s going to look a lot more detailed than the show, so with that in mind Capper seems to fit right in.

i wouldn’t use the word “better” personally, because both have designs with complexity and style called for in each scenario. it’s like comparing apples to oranges.
this cat character looks like he’s straight out of a Disney movie. something about it seems quite a bit atypical of the MLP style

well, i was gona point out but decided not to, diamond dogs are more simplistic and more related to dogs than actual humans (in body desing), i wouldt actualy call them humanized dogs or furrys or whatever, for me, they fix into the normal equestria universe, as for capper… ehhhhh… even if the desing is made to fit into the rest of characters and the world itself is drawned, it still looks like kinda off, it remembers me a lot to (idk what was the english name, ill put it in spanish) don gato y su pandilla, no pun intended
Never thought of them as anthro because they’re shaped more like gorillas.

well, there was always mixed opinions about princess twilight, or thorax, or princess flurryheart (or whatever she name was) or eqg. i was expecting the tipical furry haters to come out (dont get me wrong, i do not hate furryes but neither i like them, i had a very good furry friend 3 years ago)

Nah, if they were ‘fursonas’ they would have ridiculous fetish fuel tied to them or some sort of living limb/nonsensical body parts. I’d say they’re pretty tame for sonas.

I say ‘better designed’ meaning not intentionally bland personality-less figures. Since that music video had a very unique art style that created details through lack thereof.
when my bf knew about the movie and capper, he was like (ill put what he sayed, not the exact words but pretty close) we were talking about leageofnoobchamps and suddenly he started like this: “no, no NOOOOO NOOOOOOOO, FUCKING NOOOOOOO * puts pic where capper and his voice actor appears* FUCKING FURRYS FFS, rip mlp, fucking hell weon, im such on a bad mood. congrats, you killed the serie at once, for fucking fanservice, pieces of shit, im fucking out”
again, im not trying or wanting to offend anyone, i agree on what his says, but at the same time capper looks like he would have an interesting personality
ill say for a third time, i do not want to offend anyone, im just pointing out an opinion that other people may have about a literal furry being an official mlp character
