That’s obviously untrue. The taxes more than likely go to the city treasuries and are used for public works projects, not “directly into the pockets” of the ruling royals. That would be insanely counterproductive. Plus, I’m detecting an underlying desire to indulge in her “unlimited political power” by her fanboys. Y’see, y’all are the kind of people that made me unfond of Twilicorn in the first place.

We do not review every image or comment on the site - If you see something that you think breaks a rule, please report it.
And, yes - comments are for talking about the image - just because an image has the word “taxes” in it doesn’t make it open for discussing every sociopolitical tangent. If folks want to use this as an inspiration to talk about taxes they should go someplace appropriate for that. Not here.
You’re acting like people haven’t been asking questions like this for the last hundred years. The people WANT taxes because they WANT a government that can actually DO the all things it promises to do, otherwise they would elect officials that want to repeal the income tax.

Nahh dude. The free market doesn’t really do that for roads. Unless you want the medieval times so to pay somebody guy to use a Fucking sidewalk. Taxation without representation would be theft, but to have taxes in itself isn’t theft.
Roads, schools, and parks can be provided in the free market…at better quality and for even cheaper too in some cases.
Also, the “who will build the roads?” response doesn’t really address the fact that taxation is, by definition, theft.

Okay, so it is a tax, but it’s not something that shows up WITH the taxes. A tariff doesn’t even have to be paid up-front, unlike taxes.
