I tried to think of a tag to add to this. It took me over five minutes to think of an appropriate one, as all of the tags that I could think of were taken.

As long as they’re actually relevant to the picture at least.  
[Example: You don’t need to tag the mountains or clouds in this picture. But if the character was interacting with them, or they had a larger focus, then they could be tagged.]
 
 
And yes. No need for 5 different ways to say the character is Cute.
 
There needs to be a minimum 9 separate tags describing said character’s cuteness!

More tags are always good as long as they’re helpful. As long as images don’t have five variations of ‘cute’ and/or ‘sexy’, I see no issue.

Me too; but it’ll be more taxing on Derpibooru’s servers; and admins don’t want to deal with too many tags.

I like to “standardize” tags and add more tags to make images stand out more and easier to find. Every little distinction here and there.

Sometimes I choose a day and I add more than +200 tags to those images, I also add “caption”, “image macro”, etc.  
There are tons, but tons of images that need those tags.

Is adding tags count as changing? If it is, there are a lot of pics on the site that have missing tag “edited screencap”, which automatically add tag “screencap”. Also a lot of them have missing tag with episode name.

All I’ll say right now is to not put those tags on anthro pics. [Edit. Aside from “changeling” That can still be applied to Anthro images.]  
We’re still hammering out a fair number of details and specifics. So for right now just limit those tags to pictures of ponies.  
You don’t have to go out of your way to remove them, though you can if you want.

Apologies. To be clearer:  
I meant that “anthros” and similar, wouldn’t apply for the tags “pony, unicorn, pegasus,” etc. I had said that to ensure there was no confusion on that matter.

Well it wasn’t really announced as there is no strict enforcement of it yet, aside from asking people to not remove them. But that’s been extremely rare so far. Also because we’re tossing around some possible ideas of other tagging methods. Posts about such can be found time to time in the General tag discussion thread.
 
But yeah, feel free to tag “Pony, Earth pony, Alicorn, Unicorn, Pegasus, Griffon, Dragon, etc etc” on pics they’re appropriate to.  
[Appropriate meaning: pictures of ponies. Not any of the other forms, like anthro, humanized, equestria girls, etc.]
