they don’t recommend it because it doesn’t work. could get the poison to spread more too, by damaging the bite area. and venom spreads fast enough that by the time you try to suck it out or apply a tourniquet, it’s already throughout the body.

I know.  It’s the difference between “venom” and “poison”.
 
However, the chances of tiny, unnoticed wounds inside the mouth is much higher than almost anywhere else on the body — unless you happen to be on an entirely liquid diet. ^_^

It does increase the chances of it getting in your bloodstream but unless you have a open wound in your mouth you’ll be fine, you can drink rattlesnake venom and be perfectly fine.

Medical professionals actually don’t recommend “sucking out the poison”.  It’s not effective, and even if you did manage to extract some portion of the venom that was still in the wound, you’d end up with it inside your mouth, where the chance of it getting into your blood stream is heightened.
