@Pagan
It would be nice if they covered that in the show, I doubt they will, but it would be nice. I mean, if the new changelings could shapeshift or not. (after all, why not discard one of the more interesting things about them?)
@headlessrainbow
We actually don’t know if they can shift anymore, before they needed that power to feed But now they can just feed on one another, so changing may not be an option for them anymore.
I think the “You just don’t like bright and colourful!” defence doesn’t work if you liked the pony designs so far. They’re pretty much all bright and colourful, with the exception of Nightmare Moon and Thunderlane. There really is a difference between just being colourful and being… this.
To put it another way: I like cinnamon. I wouldn’t eat it raw, though.
@Beau Skunky
Tiara was a child of course she deserved another chance.
I don’t pay attention to EQG.
I say Chrysalis deserved a redemption because she was attempting to get her kind food and so they wouldn’t have to live in a wasteland any longer, compared to discord or Starlight who were just bad because they could or because they just fly off the handle at everything that doesn’t go their way I have to say she is a little more deserved. Not that that really matters now as being reformed would be the worst thing to happen to her character since the finale.
@Pagan
Without an army, and no kingdom, that means she has nothing to lose, and could still prove to be a threat however.
I kinda disagree about her being the only one deserving reforming. While I don’t like reforming every villain, some people do deserve second chances.
I think Tiara deserved her redemption, (some prior episodes hinted she wasn’t all bad, like when she complimented Pinkie, showed her Dad respect, and tried to help the CMC become “popular,” and in the end she’s just a li’l kid) but she was never really a villain in the first place. (More like an “annoyance,” or “obstacle” for the CMC.)
Also, fans don’t seem to mind Sunset reforming either, but her backstory has really gone to waste, as she never made peace with her former teacher Celestia yet.
@Beau Skunky
A queen with no army isn’t as interesting anything we get after the finale will be diet compared to how it was and even if there are other changelings still the way they used to be the new ones will still be a thing and a constant reminder, not to mention any potential the changelings had for a decent story arc is gone, it’s either be the old changelings and be a diet villain or become a Crayola bug.
I hope Chrysalis doesn’t get reformed either, before I did want her to be reformed because she would be the only villain who would deserve one but now if she became reformed she wouldn’t even be Chrysalis anymore.
@Meanlucario
I know. I criticise the show myself sometimes too. There seem to be extremism on both sides, like fans who have no positivity about the show anymore whatsoever, and can’t stop complaining. Then we got those who get angry anytime anyone criticises anything about the show, and think people are being too negative when they aren’t. One thing both extremist fans have in common is they attack anyone who disagree with them.
I’ve oddly been accused of being a “Hasdrone,” or “too negative” before, which am I?
@Pagan
There’s still a chance there’s bad Changelings out there, or Chrysalis could get a new army somehow, or team up with another villain.
(I just hope they don’t reform her if she comes back, it’s getting very overdone in the show.)

The finale sucks and sends a stupid message while also destroying a great species and concept, that’s about it, telling people to go to tumblr and calling people sjw’s anytime they disagree with you just makes you look like a child.
@Background Pony #174D
I disagree that Walt’s quote is outdated. What he meant was, it’s possible to make cartoons that appeal to both children, and adults, without having to sacrifice catering entirely to one, or the other. MLP’s a kid show, yes, no denying that, and it’s target audience is indeed li’l girls. But thanks to it’s humor, edge, characterization, and writing, it’s been able to maintain an older audience too just fine.
A show doesn’t have to be “adult” to only appeal to adults. In fact, many adults are tired of how overly-vulgar/edgy most adult animated shows nowadays are.
“Maleficent” wasn’t a bad movie, but I admit it reeks of “forced-feminism fix-fanfic” vibes, and turned her into a watered-down villain. The whole backstory with her & Stefan, kinda comes off as “no woman is evil, it’s always some man that makes her that way” even if that wasn’t likely the intention. (Even Stefan stealing her wings seems like an allegory to rape I hate to say it…) It further hammers in the forced-feminism by making the 3 fairies & Prince completely useless, and having Maleficent being the one who literally fixes everything.
I’m fine with feminism, and alternative canons, and different versions of characters, but sometimes it feels very forced in movies like that.
Also, the admins are honestly not like that. Some of ’em even criticise the show too.
