I cannot earn the Detective Pony unless I advance that story line and I cannot advance that story line unless I am lucky enough to win Snips in the Balloon Pop. My only other chance to get Snips is if he is rewarded in the Equestria Girls Dance game. Maybe the Detective Pony will eventually end up being a traveling pony that will hopefully not have too outrageous requirements to earn him.
