There was an interview on EQD where we learned that this new arc is just going to be the same routine that the comics had done before. There's no interference or cooperation with season 7's writers and they're just doing the comics based on what had already been written just like they always have. The only thing that's changed is that IDW has more knowledge of future episodes than before.
