Hmm, I feel this idea only spawned due to the fact that Sunset is now a powerful mind reader like Professor X (among empathy and unity type magic), and the writer just tried to think up a scenario where she would be in a wheel chair before she turned good…but the project was cancelled by the writer due to obvious issues….Being a cripple would be something the Mane 6 would constantly beat themselves up over if she became a hero, and sympathy would come TOO easily.
 
I say this because beyond the Prof X comparison, being reduced to a wheelchair is a pretty ill fitting disability to give her, even in a fanfiction.
